The two schools will become Centres of Competence (CoC) in these two municipalities, where the one of Skenderaj will be established to offer teaching and training to the students in the field of Building and Construction, and in Malishevo in the field Commerce, Administration and Trade.

The total budget foreseen for the Construction of the two school buildings, gym halls and the landscaping, including the implementation cost, is of 10.7 Million Euro. MEST has participated with 1.2 Million Euro, and the rest of the budget, 9.5 Million Euro, has been granted by the Norwegian Ministry of foreign affairs (NMFA)
The Ministry of Education Science and Technology of Kosovo has established the ownership of the location where the two schools will be constructed and also carried out all the necessary practices in order to obtain the necessary building permits which are to be issued through a regular administrative procedure on the basis of the new technical design.
Prior the preparation of the Executive Project Design, throughseries of meetings and workshops have been clarified and defined the VET Profiles for both schools in line with the National Strategy for VET Development in Kosovo.
The definition of the VET Profiles was achieved through a workgroup consisting of representatives of the Norwegian Agency for Development and Cooperation (NORAD), in close cooperation with the MEST, local VET experts, GTZ and the attention of IMG in Prishtina.

Use of renewable sources of energy
The designs of both school buildings are determined with strategic decision and dedication for use of renewable sources of energy. The designs for the buildings should promote lower energy consumption and in the same time strong dedication for own production of energy. These goals shall be met by following systems:
- Geothermal Energy – for Central Heating calculated savings up to 60% of Energy of heating.
- Solar Energy – usage of Solar Panels to cover parts of the schools with electricity and with the possibility for further development and increase the capacity.
- Rain Water- collecting of the rain water, its basic purification and using it for the irrigation of the landscaping, hydrant and cleaning of the school yards and paths.
The project implementation period was scheduled to be for a total of 25 months, starting from November 2008 until end of December 2010. The two school buildings are foreseen to be operational for the new school year in September 2010.
