Augusto and Julie are two young people who meet over the internet and make a pact to commit suicide. They decide to put an end to their life together from a snow-covered mountain in Norway.
The set was simple. With a white block illustrating the mountain, a video-projector showing the northern lights and music by Bjôrk, the audience gets a feel of the Nordic atmosphere.
The story is dark and tragic, however the audience is entertained with dialogues between the two which are characterized by emotional outbursts; a mix of humor, sarcasm, and anger. Julie is the confident and controlled one until the final moment, where she breaks down into tears. Augusto is like an emotional rollercoaster; going from calm to hysterical in his conversations.
As the story goes the couple fall in love. This makes the completion of what they came for even more emotional. They film their last thoughts with their mobile phone before they face down the frosty fjords. While holding hands, they end the story.
Adrian Morina as Augusto, and Egzona Ademi as Julie, form a perfect duo. There is an excellent chemistry between the two actors making me want to visit The National Theater more often. Even though the play was in Albanian, it was definitely worth a visit.
