The Norwegian Ambassador, Mr. Per Strand Sjaastad, met 24 February with Minister of Environment Lefter Koka to discuss the strengthening of cooperation between Norway and Albania. They agreed that Albania and Norway have many features in common, as maritime nations, a long coastline and a vast potential for the production of hydro-energy. “Norway is ready to explore closer cooperation with Albania”, underlined the Ambassador, “including focus on capacity-building, training and lessons learned within environment and spatial planning. I believe Norway can provide significant value-added in these fields, adding to the substantial progress already made by Albania”.
