“Karate Kid” has been a massive success this summer. Now you can enjoy the Norwegian family movie at the local cinema in Prishtina.
Ok, the young star actor Jaden Smith is not Norwegian. Nor is the Hong Kong legend Jackie Chan or any of the other actors in the movie.
However, the director Harald Zwart is a full blood Norwegian, born in Drammen outside Oslo. He has been praised for his latest movie; also the audience in the US was satisfied with the movie which was filmed in Beijing.
The story is based on a 12-year-old boy from Detroit, US, who moves to China with his mother and gets bullied by his schoolmates. After a while he find himself an unlikely ally in the the maintenance man, Mr. Han, a kung fu master who teaches him the secrets of self-defense.
Both the main actor Jaden Smith and his father and producer Will Smith were in Norway when the movie was released there in July. No celebrities were in Prishtina when the movie was released in Kosovo September 2. However, you can enjoy the movie twice a day (17.00 and 19.30) until Sunday September 12.
